Celebrations continue across cities as Wad Madani returns to the embrace of the homeland, marking the defeat of the militia. These military developments are being closely overseen by the SAF leadership on the battlefield, paving the way for a clear route toward Khartoum.

The “Lions of Gadaref”:

The Acting Governor of Gadaref, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, bid farewell to the departing battalion “Lions of Gadaref Saad” at the government headquarters. The battalion is heading to the battlefronts to participate in the “Dignity Battle” and eliminate the militia. The governor emphasized that the battalion provides genuine support to the SAF and other forces in the near-conclusive “Dignity Battle” amidst the army’s continuous victories across all fronts. He expressed confidence in the battalion’s readiness to fight and contribute to purging any territory desecrated by the militia.

Similarly, Abdulati Hassan Dakin, a member of the civilian leadership of the “Lions of Gadaref Saad” battalion, stated that the deployment aligns with the ongoing support for the SAF and the role played by the state’s volunteers in the Dignity Battle. He affirmed their full preparedness to respond to the nation’s call across all regions.

Kabbashi on the Frontlines:

As part of monitoring the progress of military operations, the Transitional Sovereignty Council member and SAF Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Shamseddine Kabbashi, held a meeting with military division leaders in the Gezira State sector. He received a briefing on the overall security and military situation, operational readiness, and the SAF’s commitment to liberating the country from the rebellion and eliminating the Al-Daglo militia.

Meeting with Citizens:

Kabbashi praised the victories achieved by the SAF, other official forces, volunteers, and joint forces in liberating Wad Madani and bringing it back to the nation’s fold. He met with the city’s citizens, reaffirming the unity between the people and their leadership in defending the country’s sovereignty and integrity. Kabbashi also met with SAF officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers during his visits to military units and divisions. He toured Wad Madani and visited the Hantoub Bridge, ensuring the city’s stability and calm.

A Strategic Area:

Military expert and retired Major General Dr. Mohamed Khalil Al-Saem, a professor of international relations and strategic studies at Sudanese universities, stated that the liberation of Wad Madani is a significant development in the course of operations. The city is a strategic hub connecting five states. The SAF managed to besiege the city for a long time before successfully liberating it. The operation involved an airborne landing within the city, with fleeing militia forces being pursued.

Speaking to the “Sudanese Echoes” platform, Khalil noted that Wad Madani could resume its activities by the winter season once stability is restored. He highlighted the SAF’s advancement toward Khartoum and the siege of Al-Jili in Bahri. He added that the SAF protects civilians, unlike the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which engage in killing, looting, and assaulting civilians upon entering cities.

Khalil further mentioned the SAF’s capture of the Rowad Towers area in Khartoum, where militia snipers and weapons were stationed. He pointed to successful operations in Kordofan, including the liberation of Umm Rawaba. In Darfur, specifically Al-Fashir, the RSF retreated from attacking the city. He confirmed that many RSF loyalists have withdrawn following the liberation of Wad Madani, describing their actions as an attempt to escape a sinking ship.

Khalil criticized the RSF’s rhetoric about restoring democracy, stating that democracy cannot be imposed through the gun, which the militia and its allies falsely claim to fight for.

Source: “Sudanese Echoes” Platform

Sudan Events – Agencies Since the liberation of Wad Madani last Saturday, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have made significant progress in military operations.
