Three shells struck her home, instantly killing her husband, brother, and two cousins.

Suad recalls, “The shock was so great that I fainted upon hearing the news of my husband and brother’s deaths from the shelling of our house. I only regained consciousness about ten days later in a health facility.”

Tears streaming down her face, she adds, “After that, I had no choice but to leave the family home where I was born and raised, and where I had my most cherished memories for over 60 years. My family and I were forced to move to a shelter camp to preserve what remains of our lives.”

She continues, “We no longer have any sense of hope in life, especially after losing our primary breadwinner,” referring to her husband, who had been responsible for the family’s livelihood. According to Suad, the war destroyed their only refuge from the scorching summer heat and the bitter winter cold.

Suad affirmed that the war has displaced her family and extinguished any glimmer of hope for living in safety and peace. “Now, all I wish for is to ensure my children’s safety and well-being before I leave this world,” she said.

Death Toll Statistics:

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Khartoum State, Mohamed Al-Amin, revealed that thousands of citizens have been killed due to the indiscriminate shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces, which continue to target civilians.

He stated that the Ministry of Health has intensified efforts in recent weeks within emergency departments at the state’s hospitals to prepare for any emergencies.

Source: “Sudanese Echoes”

Sudan Events – Agencies The Sudanese people continue to endure the horrors of war daily, while the world remains indifferent to their suffering and violations.
