North Korea accused the United States on Sunday of intensifying its military aid to allies in what it described as an attempt to reinforce its dominance. Pyongyang claimed that such arms supplies remain insufficient to “save” South Korea from its strategic shortcomings.<\/p>\n
The accusation came after the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced proposed arms sales to South Korea, including subsonic air-to-sea missiles (BQM-177A) equipped with the Aegis system and QGM-163 drones, according to South Korea\u2019s Yonhap News Agency.<\/p>\n
“The United States, the world\u2019s biggest war dealer, is more anxious than ever about its arms sales to its follower states,” North Korea\u2019s state-run KCNA news agency commented. It added that U.S. arms sales to South Korea have become “increasingly sustainable.”<\/p>\n
The North Korean agency argued that this military aid reflects Washington\u2019s attempt to disrupt the regional balance of power and assert its hegemony.<\/p>\n
“No amount of U.S. weapons aid can free South Korea from its fate of strategic inferiority… The U.S. will not achieve its ambitions in the face of our just power,” it added.<\/p>\n
This statement comes as North Korea has consistently condemned military cooperation between South Korea and the United States, portraying their joint military drills as rehearsals for an invasion while using them as a pretext for provocations.<\/p>\n
