Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 is making scoring goals look effortless after years of struggling with finishing.<\/p>\n
This season, Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 is enjoying the best goal-scoring form of his career, silencing critics who have long pointed to his wastefulness in front of goal.<\/p>\n
He has now reached 23 goals this season after netting twice in PSG\u2019s 3-0 victory over Brest on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 playoff.<\/p>\n
That tally is already nine goals more than his previous best season (2018-19) when he scored 14 goals for Barcelona.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe team is in a great rhythm. Everyone is highly focused and playing brilliantly, which helps me score goals when I\u2019m in the right positions,\u201d Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 said. \u201cPlayers like Bradley Barcola, D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Dou\u00e9, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia provide me with excellent service.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite downplaying his own role, Demb\u00e9l\u00e9 has now scored in 10 consecutive matches for PSG, clearly emerging as the team\u2019s biggest star following Kylian Mbapp\u00e9\u2019s move to Real Madrid in the summer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are happy that he is playing at this level,\u201d said teammate Vitinha. \u201cWe hope he keeps it up as long as possible because he\u2019s helping the team a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
So far this season, the French international has netted two hat-tricks, including one in PSG\u2019s 5-2 league win over Brest. He has also scored six goals in the Champions League\u2014four with his right foot and two with his left.<\/p>\n
PSG coach Luis Enrique sees no limits to Demb\u00e9l\u00e9\u2019s growth as a goal scorer.<\/p>\n
