The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denounced the international community\u2019s silence regarding the ongoing two-day attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the Zamzam displacement camp near El Fasher.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the ministry said, “Amid suspicious international silence, the RSF\u2014backed by its regional sponsors\u2014has escalated its campaign of genocide against the majority of Darfur’s citizens.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The statement noted that the RSF had been relentlessly attacking the Zamzam camp for two days, having previously tested the international community\u2019s indifference to its daily shelling of the camp since December 2024.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the RSF assault has resulted in the deaths of large numbers of displaced persons. Reports indicate that specific ethnic groups were targeted and that fleeing civilians were prevented from leaving the camp\u2014following the same pattern used in the attacks on El Geneina and Adr\u00e9 in West Darfur in June 2023.<\/p>\n

The ministry further stated that RSF fighters had burned down camp markets, destroyed food and water storage facilities, and forced primary healthcare centers to withdraw.<\/p>\n

It also highlighted a recent report by the World Food Programme (WFP), which revealed that the RSF had held up food convoys bound for Zamzam for weeks before forcibly redirecting them. The ministry called this a clear sign of genocidal intent.<\/p>\n

The statement directly accused the United Arab Emirates of responsibility for the genocide at Zamzam, citing satellite images and verified scientific reports confirming that the UAE supplied the heavy weapons and artillery used against the displaced persons in the camp over the past three months.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the ministry held the United Nations Security Council and Western powers partially responsible, citing their silence over the RSF\u2019s bombardment of the camp and its defiance of the Security Council\u2019s resolution demanding an end to the siege on El Fasher and a halt to military attacks against the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
