In fact, I feel even more reassured now that Abdelaziz Al-Hilu has publicly appeared alongside the Janjaweed group that seeks to establish its own state. Previously, this was done in secrecy, and many denied or doubted our claims.<\/p>\n<p>We will not be part of this absurdity, nor will the people of the Nuba Mountains take pride in a state that strips us of our right to life instead of granting us the political and civil rights we seek. Those who displaced and committed crimes against our Masalit people\u2014burying people alive\u2014can never understand the values of the New Sudan, equal citizenship, or a state of justice.<\/p>\n<p>We acknowledge that our country needs reform and social justice and that the Ingaz regime has fallen with no return\u2014no one can use that against us. We are fully capable of achieving these goals in a nation that truly represents us.<\/p>\n<p>We call on all those who reject Abdelaziz Al-Hilu\u2019s actions to unite in the largest political and civil front against the Janjaweed and their policies, which have besieged our people for over a year, depriving them of food and education while bombing innocent civilians in Kadugli.<\/p>\n<p>We will stand at the forefront of those striving to build a new state\u2014one free from the Janjaweed and their allies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mubarak Ardol I am not surprised at all by what we witnessed today at the Nairobi conference.
