Argentine football star Lionel Messi revealed that he never felt happy during his two-year stint at Paris Saint-Germain. He stated that he is now thriving both on and off the field in Miami.<\/p>\n
According to the British news agency PA Media, Messi, 37, who has won the Ballon d’Or eight times, joined Inter Miami\u2014partly owned by David Beckham\u2014in July 2023 after a turbulent period in the French capital.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Messi said:
\n“Coming to play for Inter Miami was an opportunity, and given how things unfolded in my last years in Paris, even though it was a decision I had to make because I had to leave Barcelona, I went through two years where I didn’t enjoy myself.”<\/p>\n
He added:
\n“I never felt happy, whether in training or matches. I struggled to adapt to everything. I felt drawn to coming to Inter because the club is growing, and it\u2019s very new, having been founded just a few years ago.”<\/p>\n
Messi, who helped Miami win the MLS Supporters\u2019 Shield in 2024 before they were eliminated in the playoffs by Atlanta United, also mentioned that his family enjoys life in Florida.<\/p>\n
“I liked the idea of coming here and helping the team become a great club. I also knew this was a city where my family and I would enjoy living,” he said.<\/p>\n
He continued:
