Sudan Events – Agencies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Field reports and human rights statements indicate that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have launched deadly attacks in areas of the Darfur region, coinciding with their retreat in key cities before the Sudanese army.<\/p>\n

Sources told Al Jazeera Net<\/em> that the RSF assassinated around 20 civilians on Saturday and burned down 52 villages in the northern part of Dar El Salam locality, North Darfur state, western Sudan.<\/p>\n

According to these sources, the attack was a retaliatory response to the victories achieved by the Sudanese army and the joint forces of the armed struggle movements in the Ad Al-Bayda<\/em> area, southeast of El Fasher, last Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Al Jazeera Net<\/em>, Mohammed Khamis Doda, the official spokesperson for displaced persons in Zamzam Camp, stated that over 5,000 people fled from the northern areas of Dar El Salam locality to Zamzam Camp due to these attacks.<\/p>\n

He explained that the camp is still receiving large numbers of displaced people under dire humanitarian conditions, noting that RSF forces burned down many villages and destroyed homes, leading to the complete displacement of their residents.<\/p>\n

Cases of Rape<\/strong><\/p>\n

The emergency room at Abu Shouk<\/em> displacement camp in El Fasher reported the killing of four people due to artillery shelling by the RSF on homes and the camp\u2019s market.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the media center of Zamzam displacement camp in El Fasher confirmed that there were casualties and cases of rape during an RSF attack on Dar El Salam, south of El Fasher.<\/p>\n

According to the center, RSF forces carried out attacks over two days on 52 villages south and west of El Fasher.<\/p>\n

Since last December, RSF forces have been launching systematic attacks against civilians near El Fasher. In February, they burned down several villages west of the city, forcing hundreds of civilians to flee to neighboring areas in search of safety, according to field sources.<\/p>\n

The military spokesperson for the joint forces of the armed struggle movements, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, stated that RSF militias targeted the villages of Qaryoud<\/em>, Barsham<\/em>, Kosheng<\/em>, Qoz Bina<\/em>, and surrounding areas on Saturday, committing horrific massacres against civilians.<\/p>\n

He confirmed that the militias looted solar panels used for water supply and destroyed others, emphasizing that “whenever they find themselves cornered, they take revenge on innocent civilians.”<\/p>\n

Dire Humanitarian Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Adam Regal, the official spokesperson for the General Coordination of Displaced Persons and Refugees in Darfur, the displacement camps in Darfur, particularly in El Fasher, are suffering from a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions.<\/p>\n

He told Al Jazeera Net<\/em> that this situation is due to the siege imposed on the city for over ten months, causing acute shortages of food and medicine in Zamzam, Abu Shouk, and Abuja camps, threatening the lives of thousands of civilians.<\/p>\n

He noted that despite repeated calls to refrain from using food as a weapon of starvation, the warring parties continue to ignore humanitarian appeals, exacerbating the suffering of the population.<\/p>\n

He also pointed out that the suspension of Doctors Without Borders<\/em> operations in Zamzam Camp has worsened the situation, as many other humanitarian organizations have ceased their activities.<\/p>\n

Regal described these conditions as a warning sign to the international community, which he fears may have turned a blind eye to this humanitarian catastrophe. He called on the international community to take a firm stance, halt all forms of support to the warring parties, and work towards establishing peace in Sudan.<\/p>\n

Forced Displacement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, humanitarian activist Suleiman Adam revealed that RSF forces have been carrying out systematic retaliatory campaigns against villages surrounding El Fasher for several months.<\/p>\n

Adam stated that RSF forces have committed grave violations against civilians, including targeted killings based on ethnic identity, as well as looting livestock, which is the primary source of livelihood for many.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned that there have been widespread arbitrary arrests of dozens of young men in the region without justification. He confirmed that these violations are not new but part of a systematic policy by RSF to exert control over the area through intimidation and destruction.<\/p>\n

He noted that these actions have led to the displacement of thousands of families to camps like Zamzam, where they face artillery shelling and severe shortages of essential supplies such as food, water, and healthcare. He called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently to stop these violations and provide protection for civilians.<\/p>\n

Local observers’ reports indicate that the region is facing an escalating humanitarian crisis due to the continuous influx of displaced persons into Zamzam and El Fasher, where many suffer from acute shortages of food, water, and medical care.<\/p>\n

Humanitarian organizations have urged the international community to take immediate action to halt these violations and ensure the protection of civilians.<\/p>\n
