This came during his meeting today at the presidential palace in Entebbe with the Vice President of Sudan\u2019s Sovereign Council, Commander Malik Agar, where Museveni also expressed his desire to visit Sudan soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uganda\u2019s Position on the Nairobi Meetings and the Political Charter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The meeting addressed Nairobi\u2019s hosting of gatherings that included representatives of the rebel militia and its allies, during which they signed what is referred to as the &#8220;Political Charter.&#8221; The Vice President of the Sovereign Council clarified Sudan\u2019s government stance on these developments, stressing that the correct path to ending the war lies in adhering to the Jeddah Declaration\u2019s outcomes, ending the occupation of civilian facilities, and halting attacks on public service institutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Issue of Sudan\u2019s Suspension from the African Union<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The discussion also covered Sudan\u2019s suspension from the African Union. Agar explained that the union\u2019s previous decision was based on a misreading of the situation, emphasizing the need to correct this course and restore Sudan to its rightful role within the continental organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Official Visit Accompanied by a Diplomatic Delegation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Accompanying the Vice President of the Sovereign Council on his visit to Uganda is Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil.
