A spokesperson for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday that a “large number” of countries are willing to provide peacekeeping forces for Ukraine if a peace agreement with Russia is reached.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson noted that more than 30 countries are expected to participate in the so-called “Coalition of the Willing” to support Ukraine, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n
He told reporters: “The contributions will vary, but this will be a substantial force, with a large number of countries providing troops.”<\/p>\n
This comes as the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has proposed aid for Ukraine amounting to between 20 and 40 billion euros ($22\u201344 billion).<\/p>\n
EU foreign ministers are set to discuss a new initiative at their meeting on Monday, which could provide billions of euros in additional military aid to Ukraine, with contributions from EU member states based on their economic strength.<\/p>\n
Other topics on the meeting\u2019s agenda include EU relations with the United States, policy toward Iran, and the situation in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
