Sudan Events – Agencies<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Sudanese government delegation, led by Sulaima Adam Baniyah, the Commissioner-General for Humanitarian Aid, and including Sudan\u2019s Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Amin and officials from the Humanitarian Aid Commission, held its first meeting at the French Foreign Ministry with Emmanuel Platman, Director of African Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n

Platman welcomed the Sudanese delegation and expressed France\u2019s deep concern over the situation in Sudan at the highest levels of government. She highlighted the importance of conferences held by the French government on Sudan between 2021 and 2024, despite some organizational shortcomings.<\/p>\n

Platman emphasized France\u2019s increased interest in Sudan\u2019s humanitarian crisis and its readiness to provide humanitarian aid. She welcomed Sudan\u2019s direct and transparent dialogue with the European Union, describing it as the right path toward building a strategic relationship. She stressed the need to address the challenges facing the humanitarian situation in Sudan.<\/p>\n

For her part, Baniyah expressed Sudan\u2019s gratitude to France for its warm reception and hospitality, underscoring France\u2019s strategic and influential role in the UN Security Council and other international forums.<\/p>\n

Baniyah criticized Sudan\u2019s exclusion from the humanitarian conference organized by France in April 2024, noting that invitations were extended to entities supporting and aligning with the RSF.<\/p>\n

She described the conflict in Sudan as a war between a militia attempting to seize power by force and the Sudanese people whose rights and property have been violated by the militia, which is also recruiting mercenaries from various countries.<\/p>\n

Baniyah condemned the European Union’s silence on RSF violations, warning that such inaction encourages continued abuses.<\/p>\n

Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Amin also thanked France and stressed the importance of a transparent and honest dialogue with the European Union to clarify the nature of the conflict in Sudan.<\/p>\n

Al-Amin described the RSF\u2019s war as a comprehensive assault on infrastructure and civilian facilities following the failure of their attempted coup. He praised the diplomatic efforts of European envoys toward Sudan, considering them a sign of genuine interest in understanding the conflict.<\/p>\n
