{"id":45457,"date":"2025-03-29T15:55:20","date_gmt":"2025-03-29T12:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=45457"},"modified":"2025-03-29T15:55:20","modified_gmt":"2025-03-29T12:55:20","slug":"revealing-the-scale-of-khartoum-airports-losses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/29\/revealing-the-scale-of-khartoum-airports-losses\/","title":{"rendered":"Revealing the Scale of Khartoum Airport&#8217;s Losses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The former director of Sudan&#8217;s Civil Aviation Authority, Ibrahim Adlan, estimated the losses suffered by Khartoum Airport and the air navigation center due to the war at approximately $3 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to Tayaran Baladna magazine, Adlan revealed that the losses of air navigation assets alone are close to $500 million, in addition to $300 million in lost operational revenue over two years, while human resource operating costs amount to about $5 million.<\/p>\n<p>He indicated that Khartoum Airport&#8217;s damages are estimated at around $600 million in destroyed aircraft, $250 million in fixed assets (excluding the main buildings), and movable and immovable assets inside the buildings, which exceed $750 million. Additionally, operational losses over two years are estimated at $400 million, with ongoing human resource costs.<\/p>\n<p>Adlan noted that during his tenure as the Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority, he had established an insurance policy through Sheikan Insurance Company with Lloyd\u2019s of London, covering all air navigation and airport assets.<\/p>\n<p>He added, &#8220;We were consistent in paying the insurance premiums without delay. We also reviewed all insurance policies for companies, including Badr, Tarco, and Sudan Airways.
