The High Committee for preparing the Sudanese-Egyptian Forum held its first meeting, chaired by the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Ahlam Madani Mahdi, in the presence of economic ministry representatives, the Business Owners\u2019 Union, and relevant bodies.<\/p>\n
The Minister stated that the meeting reviewed the outcomes of the technical committee’s meeting regarding the forum and the recommendations of the first forum held last November in Cairo.<\/p>\n
She added that the forum is of great importance due to Egypt\u2019s close ties with Sudan, and it is one of the key conferences, being the second of its kind, following the previous one held in Egypt. It represents a vital opportunity for increased cooperation and regional and Arab integration across all sectors.<\/p>\n
She explained that the forum offers an opportunity for Egyptian businesspeople to invest in ready-to-implement reconstruction projects. She called for the submission of viable reconstruction project proposals that include detailed cost estimates and emphasized the need to prioritize projects across all aspects of life.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will focus on urgent reconstruction projects in health, electricity, water, and education, as well as service projects,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The minister confirmed that Sudan is currently preparing for an early recovery phase, as evidenced by increasing signs of improvement through successive victories on the ground. \u201cAs a ministry concerned with investment, we are one of the effective arms in the recovery and reconstruction efforts by attracting more investors to participate in these projects,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
The Minister noted that the transition requires strategic planning that prioritizes citizen services to achieve stability, saying, \u201cWe have developed a comprehensive vision for reconstruction projects,\u201d and stated that the forum will address many obstacles and challenges.<\/p>\n
She announced the establishment of a joint committee between Sudan and Egypt in the near future to determine reconstruction priorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
