The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning signed legal contracts on Thursday \u2014 in the presence of the Ministry\u2019s Undersecretary Abdullah Ibrahim \u2014 with the Nile Bank and Sudanese Islamic Bank. Under the agreements, the banks will provide banking services and implement an electronic collection and payment system on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, enabling digital revenue collection and payment for government services and transactions.<\/p>\n
The contracts were signed by the Deputy Director-General of the Accounts Directorate on behalf of the Ministry, and by representatives from the respective banks.<\/p>\n
Fatima Al-Badawi, Director-General of the Treasury Department, stressed the importance of the e-collection and payment system in managing public funds efficiently under the Single Treasury Account system.<\/p>\n
Ibtisam Ali, Director-General of Revenues, highlighted the need for coordination between the Ministry and the banks in implementing the system to ensure transparency, control revenues, and reduce corruption and waste of resources. She praised the commitment and seriousness of the signing banks.<\/p>\n
Deputy Director-General of the Accounts Directorate Abdul Mohsen Ahmed emphasized the importance of signing with banks to reinforce the Ministry’s control over public funds and to facilitate government services for citizens.<\/p>\n
Dr. Osama Al-Tayeb, Deputy CEO of Nile Bank, revealed a shift toward digitization and affirmed the bank\u2019s readiness to provide collection and payment services through all its branches and outlets. The bank\u2019s Marketing Director, Mohamed Hamid Adam, confirmed the bank\u2019s full preparedness for immediate implementation.<\/p>\n
