The General Authority for Geological Research, the technical arm of the Ministry of Minerals, disclosed that it lost all its geological maps and technical reports due to the war, which led to the destruction of the ministry\u2019s and the authority\u2019s headquarters.<\/p>\n
During a meeting with the Russian company \u201cRosgeo,\u201d which was selected by Russia\u2019s Ministry of Natural Resources under the joint Sudanese-Russian ministerial committee protocol signed in 2013, Sudan\u2019s Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Siddiq, requested a digital copy of the data from the joint project between the two countries (the Russian project) and previous geological information. The Russian side responded immediately by providing a hard copy of the technical report, along with two geological atlas volumes.<\/p>\n
Dr. Hind noted that digital versions of all the information will be handed over to the Sudanese side at a later date.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Russian side discussed investment opportunities in Sudan\u2019s mining sector, particularly in chrome and manganese mining. The Sudanese delegation requested the Russian side to send technical proposals, which will be studied and then discussed during the eighth session of the joint ministerial committee scheduled for June.<\/p>\n
For his part, Sudan\u2019s Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Al-Ghazali, confirmed the embassy\u2019s readiness to simplify procedures and facilitate the Russian side\u2019s visa acquisition process, in addition to establishing a joint contact point between the embassy and Rosgeo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
