In a statement to Al-Muhaqiq news outlet, Zakaria stated that the Juba Peace Agreement includes a provision stipulating that the positions allocated to the movements will remain with them until the end of the transitional period. He added, \u201cWe agreed with the government on these positions prior to signing the agreement, that the positions granted to the peace parties shall remain theirs until the end of the transitional phase.\u201d He questioned, \u201cHas any party asked us to give up our positions in the government?\u201d and answered, \u201cConsultations on this matter are still ongoing with Prime Minister Kamal Idris, and we prefer to speak once understandings have been reached.\u201d<\/p>\n
The JEM spokesperson affirmed that the leadership in Port Sudan is in harmony, accusing elements from the Rapid Support Forces militia and its allied political forces of seeking to weaken the internal front\u2019s cohesion.
