{"id":50672,"date":"2025-06-29T00:59:33","date_gmt":"2025-06-28T21:59:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=50672"},"modified":"2025-06-29T00:59:33","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T21:59:33","slug":"army-recaptures-two-areas-in-south-kordofan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/army-recaptures-two-areas-in-south-kordofan\/","title":{"rendered":"Army Recaptures Two Areas in South Kordofan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Saturday, the army regained control of the areas of Al-Dashoul and Al-Karqal in South Kordofan State after fierce battles with the Sudan People&#8217;s Liberation Movement\u2013North (SPLM\u2013N) led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Dashoul and Al-Karqal lie on the road connecting Dilling and Kadugli.<\/p>\n<p>Sources told Darfur24 that the Armed Forces, represented by the 14th Infantry Division, managed to enter the two areas after what were described as intense clashes.<\/p>\n<p>The SPLM\u2013N had seized Al-Dashoul on June 21 after several days of fighting, imposing a siege on the city of Kadugli.<\/p>\n<p>Fighting between the army and SPLM\u2013N in Al-Dashoul began on June 17. The army initially took control of the area, before the SPLM\u2013N recaptured it.
