{"id":51209,"date":"2025-07-09T20:33:55","date_gmt":"2025-07-09T17:33:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=51209"},"modified":"2025-07-09T20:33:55","modified_gmt":"2025-07-09T17:33:55","slug":"sudanese-gunmen-cross-into-the-central-african-republic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/09\/sudanese-gunmen-cross-into-the-central-african-republic\/","title":{"rendered":"Sudanese Gunmen Cross Into the Central African Republic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Armed Sudanese men from Um Dafuq locality in South Darfur State have crossed into the Central African Republic, in what is believed to be a move to attack the town of Birao, home to the Kara tribe, near the Sudanese border.<\/p>\n<p>Sources told Darfur24 that \u201cSudanese gunmen wearing military uniforms and riding around 440 motorcycles crossed the border three days ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sources speculated that the armed group is planning to attack the Kara tribe in Birao, after the tribe rejected mediation efforts by local community leaders in Um Dafuq.<\/p>\n<p>The gunmen are reportedly stationed in the eastern and northern outskirts, just tens of kilometers from Birao.<\/p>\n<p>A local official in Um Dafuq told Darfur24 that the current mobilization is a \u201cpopular tribal mobilization\u201d, mostly consisting of residents from Um Dafuq, gathered to avenge the killing of three herders in Birao earlier this week by members of the Kara tribe.<\/p>\n<p>He added that local community leaders are working to return the armed group back into Sudan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Armed Sudanese men from Um Dafuq locality in South Darfur State have crossed into the Central African Republic, in what is believed to be a move to attack the town of Birao, home to the Kara tribe, near the Sudanese border.
