Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council Malik Agar arrived in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, on Saturday, coming from Namibia, as part of an African tour aimed at strengthening Sudan\u2019s relations with African nations and enhancing regional cooperation.<\/p>\n
Agar met with Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema and delivered a written message from the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, concerning the path of bilateral relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
He briefed the Zambian President on developments inside Sudan, particularly the humanitarian crisis caused by the RSF rebellion, and presented the government’s vision for ending the war.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Chairman provided a detailed account of the violations committed by the rebel militia against civilians, as well as the destruction of government institutions, public facilities, and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Agar affirmed that what is happening in Sudan is an attempted occupation and settlement by militias receiving support from some neighboring countries and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
He stressed Sudan\u2019s commitment to resolving African issues within the African framework and its openness to all sincere initiatives aimed at resolving its challenges.<\/p>\n
For his part, President Hichilema expressed his sorrow and concern over the level of destruction in Sudan, offering his condolences to the victims of the war and wishing peace and stability for the country.<\/p>\n
He reaffirmed Zambia\u2019s solidarity with Sudan\u2014its government and people\u2014and said his country would play a positive role in the Sudanese issue until Sudan returns to its rightful place in Africa.
