Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has called on the United Nations Security Council to continue efforts to counter the threat posed by the RSF militia to regional stability by designating it as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n
He welcomed the Security Council\u2019s statement on Wednesday rejecting any attempt by the RSF to form a government in Sudan, calling the move a positive step.<\/p>\n
The prime minister urged the Security Council to fully carry out its duty to halt the RSF\u2019s crimes and violations against civilians in Kordofan and Darfur. He called for effective pressure to compel the militia to lift its sieges on El Fasher, Kadugli, Dilling, Babnousa, and other besieged towns, and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.<\/p>\n
Idris instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant foreign relations bodies to intensify diplomatic efforts, ensuring all countries are provided with evidence supporting Sudan\u2019s long-standing warnings about the consequences of ignoring the RSF\u2019s crimes and violations \u2014 and the danger they pose to peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that the Security Council\u2019s stance \u2014 declaring the formation of a parallel government a direct threat to Sudan\u2019s unity and territorial integrity, while affirming its commitment to Sudan\u2019s sovereignty, independence, and unity \u2014 is an encouraging development.
