The Sudanese army on Thursday denied accusations by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that it bombed a humanitarian aid convoy in North Darfur on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The army\u2019s official spokesperson stated that \u201cthe Al-Dagalo militia issued a misleading statement accusing our forces of bombing a World Food Program convoy in Melit, attempting to cover up its own crime targeting the convoy in the same area.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement described the RSF claims as \u201chabitual lies aimed at deceiving the public and distorting reality, concealing the continuous violations they have committed since igniting this war against the nation and its citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n
It emphasized that Sudanese forces would under no circumstances target aid convoys meant for citizens suffering under the complex humanitarian conditions imposed by the Al-Dagalo militia, which blocks access to essential resources.<\/p>\n
The army highlighted the RSF\u2019s record of crimes, including theft, looting, destruction, killings, rape, sieges, and the starvation of El Fasher\u2019s residents, alongside attacks on IDP camps such as Zamzam, which was transformed into a military base for training minors by Colombian mercenaries, and Abu Shouk, from which IDPs were expelled. The statement condemned the extrajudicial killings of prisoners and the use of foreign mercenaries to kill civilians.<\/p>\n
