He noted that although these levies are legalized, they are being collected without receipts, with a single authority imposing three separate charges.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Anan complained of several challenges facing gum arabic exports, chiefly the hike in fees, difficulties in moving the commodity from markets between El-Obeid and En-Nahud, rising domestic prices alongside declining international prices, and the inadequate role of state institutions in supporting this strategic product.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out the impact on local prices, explaining that the cost of a qintar (about 45 kg) was SDG 325,000 at the start of the season, but has now risen to SDG 660,000 at trading stations\u2014a 103% increase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sudan Events \u2013 Rahab Abdullah Ahmed Al-Tayeb Al-Anan, head of the Gum Arabic Exporters Chamber, revealed an increase in government levies on gum arabic.
