Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aati received Sudanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Omar Siddiq on Wednesday, where they discussed bilateral relations and recent developments in Sudan.<\/p>\n
The official spokesperson for Egypt\u2019s Foreign Ministry, Tameem Khalaf, stated that Minister Abdel-Aati offered his condolences to Sudan\u2019s leadership, government, and people for the victims of recent landslides in Darfur.<\/p>\n
Abdel-Aati reaffirmed Egypt\u2019s full support for Sudan, highlighting Egypt\u2019s efforts and participation in regional and international initiatives aimed at resolving the Sudanese crisis. He emphasized the importance of a Sudanese-led comprehensive solution that would lead to a ceasefire and launch an inclusive political process to end the current crisis and alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.<\/p>\n
The minister stressed Egypt\u2019s firm rejection of any attempts to threaten Sudan\u2019s unity, undermine its national institutions, or infringe upon its sovereignty.<\/p>\n
The discussions also covered the facilities provided by Egypt to support the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens, as well as efforts to support reconstruction, recovery, and development in Sudan.<\/p>\n
Both sides reviewed joint initiatives to rehabilitate Sudan\u2019s infrastructure, including electricity, water, health, and education sectors.
