Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris emphasized that leading the government is a means to ensure his country\u2019s safety and stability, not a personal goal.<\/p>\n
In an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya\/Al Hadath, Idris said, \u201cI hope the transitional period will be short, after which I will return to being an ordinary citizen.\u201d He added that he would resign if the people demand it or if he feels disconnected from their concerns, affirming that \u201cthere is no room for failure in the plan we have set.\u201d<\/p>\n
He described attacks targeting vital facilities in Khartoum by the Rapid Support Forces as \u201cdesperate attempts following the army\u2019s victory.\u201d Idris clarified that he has not communicated with RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (\u201cHemedti\u201d) because he \u201cdoes not hold the final key to resolving the crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister revealed that Khartoum International Airport will be fully operational within days with eight daily flights. \u201cWe will resume operations from Khartoum within two months,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding the Sovereign Council, Idris said that \u201ctalk of its interference in civilian affairs fuels discord,\u201d and confirmed that military-civilian coordination is ongoing to help the country overcome the crisis. On Al-Fashir, he said the government had \u201cused all possible means to lift the siege\u201d and criticized the international community for its inadequate support.<\/p>\n
Idris also praised Saudi Arabia\u2019s role in supporting Sudan and announced an upcoming visit to Riyadh.
