The Sudanese-Russian Joint Ministerial Committee on Trade and Economy is set to convene in Moscow on Wednesday\u2014the first such meeting since the outbreak of war in Sudan in April 2023\u2014signaling the two countries\u2019 intent to strengthen bilateral ties and expand economic cooperation.<\/p>\n
The Sudanese side will be led by Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daim Mohamed Taha, while Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov will head his delegation. Representatives from both public and private sectors will participate.<\/p>\n
Preliminary technical sessions, chaired by Sudanese Minerals Ministry Undersecretary Hind Siddiq, will be held on Monday and Tuesday with the involvement of Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, alongside representatives of Sudanese ministries, economic institutions, and the Russian technical team.<\/p>\n
Sudan\u2019s ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Al-Ghazali Siraj, described the meetings as an important step in bilateral relations, noting that it is the first joint committee since the war began, reflecting strong ties and shared interest in contributing to Sudan\u2019s reconstruction.<\/p>\n
Talks will cover key sectors including mining, agriculture, energy, trade, and infrastructure.
