Sudan\u2019s permanent representative to Geneva, Ambassador Hassan Hamed, on Sunday rejected allegations made by certain NGOs claiming that the Sudanese army used chemical weapons during its conflict with the RSF militia. He described these claims as baseless and false.<\/p>\n
In statements to Al Jazeera, Hamed said these allegations merely \u201cadopt the narrative of the rebel RSF militia,\u201d accusing the \u201cmercenary\u201d NGOs of exploiting their UN Human Rights Council participation in Geneva to support the militia\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n
Hamed stressed that these NGOs\u2019 actions constitute blatant politicization and a violation of UN Resolution 1996\/31 governing NGO conduct. Sudan intends to take necessary measures against these organizations through the UN NGO Committee.<\/p>\n
He lamented the extent to which some NGOs have descended, promoting allegations based on unverified sources. He questioned why these organizations ignored direct human rights violations, including the torture and death of Qusma Ali Omar in Zalingei, the year-and-a-half siege of El Fasher, and attacks on mosques such as the recent Darja Mosque incident, which killed over 70 worshippers.<\/p>\n
