Chelsea\u2019s Portuguese forward Pedro Neto believes his team quickly learned from their opening defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, bouncing back with a win over Benfica on Matchday Two.<\/p>\n
An own goal handed Chelsea, led by manager Jos\u00e9 Mourinho, the victory over Benfica. The match saw few clear chances, but after Enzo Maresca\u2019s side lost 1\u20133 to Bayern in their opening fixture, this result put Chelsea back on track following three defeats in their previous four games across competitions.<\/p>\n
Neto combined with Argentine teammate Alejandro Garnacho to help create the decisive moment in the 18th minute, when Benfica midfielder Richard R\u00edos diverted a cross into his own net.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the club\u2019s official website, Neto said: \u201cWe learned from the first game, and we are very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI think the team played really well. We knew the difficulties we faced in the first match, and we tried hard to control the game. I believe we showed great resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Neto also told Britain\u2019s Press Association: \u201cBenfica are a tough side, especially at home. We knew we had to work hard against them.
