Transitional Sovereign Council Chairman, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, met on Wednesday with Egypt\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Ambassador Badr Abdelatty, in the presence of Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieldin Salem.<\/p>\n
Minister Salem said the Egyptian minister\u2019s visit comes within the framework of ongoing consultations between the leaderships of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation. He stressed that Sudan\u2019s \u201cWar of Dignity\u201d has obliged all state institutions to perform their roles in full, with diplomatic efforts advancing on the same front as fighters on the ground.<\/p>\n
He highlighted Egypt\u2019s role in supporting Sudan and standing by its people during the current crisis, noting that both nations would continue working together to address the consequences of a war \u201cimposed on the Sudanese people with foreign backing.\u201d He praised Cairo\u2019s \u201cwise handling\u201d of Sudanese affairs in the interest of the wider region.<\/p>\n
For his part, Egypt\u2019s foreign minister said he conveyed to al-Burhan a message of solidarity from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and confirmed that Cairo looks forward to hosting al-Burhan at the end of the month for the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum.<\/p>\n
He reiterated Egypt\u2019s commitment to supporting Sudan\u2019s national institutions, particularly the armed forces, and said both countries are determined to deepen cooperation. He affirmed Egypt\u2019s readiness to provide all forms of assistance, including reconstruction of war-damaged areas.<\/p>\n
The talks, he added, also covered Egypt\u2019s efforts to end the Sudan war through international frameworks, including the \u201cQuad\u201d mechanism, to push for a humanitarian truce leading to a ceasefire and a Sudanese-owned political process.
