Sudan\u2019s participation was warmly received in recognition of its prominent position on Africa\u2019s mining map. The head of the delegation, geological consultant Ahmed Haroun Al-Tom, Director General of the Geological Research Authority, stressed that the conference\u2019s objectives align with Sudan\u2019s plans to develop its mining sector. These include strengthening cooperation between nations and companies, exchanging expertise and technical knowledge, showcasing investment opportunities, and addressing challenges through sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n
Al-Tom noted that this year\u2019s conference focuses on mineral exploration and development, the application of modern mining technologies, sustainability principles, and corporate social responsibility, alongside discussions on promising investment opportunities.<\/p>\n
The Sudanese delegation includes both technical and regulatory arms of the ministry, represented by the Geological Research Authority and the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company.
