The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies in Qatar hosted the Sudan Food Security Forum \u2013 A Dynamic Partnership for Achieving Food Security Amid Crises.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by Professor Ismat Qureshi, Sudan\u2019s Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation; Ambassador Badr Al-Din Abdullah, Sudan\u2019s envoy to Qatar; Dr. Abdelwahab El-Affendi, President of the Doha Institute; Dr. Ihab Saad, Dean of the College of Economics, Administration, and Public Policy; and Engineer Al-Naeem Al-Mahdi, President of the Sudanese Agricultural Engineers Association, along with experts and specialists from both Sudan and Qatar.<\/p>\n
The forum was jointly organized by the College of Economics and Public Policy, the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, and the Sudanese Agricultural Engineers Association in Qatar.<\/p>\n
Proceedings began with welcoming remarks, followed by an opening session and a panel on food security statistics and FAO\u2019s vision. Subsequent discussions focused on strategic cooperation between Sudan and ACSAD, as well as the role of non-governmental organizations in supporting food security initiatives.<\/p>\n
A later session presented the Sudanese Agricultural Engineers Association\u2019s initiative in Qatar, followed by a closing session that reviewed the forum\u2019s recommendations and action plan.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the institute, the forum aimed to highlight the serious challenges facing food security in Sudan amid political and economic crises and climate change. Participants included a wide range of official, charitable, and research organizations, notably Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Qatar Charity, and Sudan\u2019s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, along with a number of academics, experts, and institutions working on agricultural development and food security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
