Chairman of Sudan\u2019s Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, returned to the country on Wednesday after an official visit to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, during which he held bilateral talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.<\/p>\n
Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muhi El-Din Salem, stated that the discussions reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.<\/p>\n
According to the minister, General Al-Burhan congratulated President El-Sisi on the successful outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit and its positive results for the Palestinian people, which contributed to fostering an atmosphere of security, stability, and peace across the region.<\/p>\n
He added that Al-Burhan reiterated Sudan\u2019s appreciation for Egypt\u2019s consistent positions in support of Sudan across various fields.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Salem noted that President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt\u2019s unwavering stance in support of Sudan\u2019s state institutions and its rejection of any foreign interference in Sudan\u2019s internal affairs. El-Sisi also called on Sudanese parties to unite in order to safeguard their nation and its resources.<\/p>\n
The Egyptian President, Salem added, emphasized Egypt\u2019s ongoing commitment to doing everything possible to help Sudan return to normalcy and achieve lasting peace.<\/p>\n
The minister further revealed that both leaders shared identical views that former U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s initiative \u2014 which succeeded in halting the fighting in Gaza \u2014 had created a favorable environment for sustainable peace in the region. They agreed it would be in the region\u2019s best interest to build upon that momentum to help stop the war in Sudan.<\/p>\n
