On the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement Foreign Ministers\u2019 Meeting in Kampala (October 14\u201316, 2025), Sudan\u2019s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, met with Uganda\u2019s Minister of State for Regional Cooperation, John Mulimba.<\/p>\n
The meeting discussed developments in Sudan and their regional implications. The Sudanese official expressed gratitude to Uganda\u2019s leadership and people for hosting Sudanese citizens during this exceptional period and for providing them with necessary support.<\/p>\n
He voiced hope that Uganda, under President Yoweri Museveni, would play a vital role in supporting Sudan\u2019s reintegration into the African Union, especially following the formation of a civilian transitional government led by Dr. Kamal Idris.<\/p>\n
The talks also addressed efforts to expedite the return of vehicles looted from Sudan and currently held by Interpol\u2019s office in Kampala.<\/p>\n
Minister Mulimba expressed his country\u2019s deep concern over developments in Sudan, wishing for the swift return of peace and stability. He described what is happening in El Fasher as \u201cgenocide,\u201d condemning the targeting of civilians with drones and their exposure to mass killings.<\/p>\n
He added that the appointment of a civilian prime minister in Sudan was \u201ca step in the right direction\u201d toward a democratic transition.<\/p>\n
