{"id":55966,"date":"2025-10-19T02:33:28","date_gmt":"2025-10-18T23:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=55966"},"modified":"2025-10-19T02:33:28","modified_gmt":"2025-10-18T23:33:28","slug":"exporters-call-for-urgent-meeting-with-central-bank-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/19\/exporters-call-for-urgent-meeting-with-central-bank-governor\/","title":{"rendered":"Exporters Call for Urgent Meeting with Central Bank Governor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sudan Events \u2013 Rehab Abdullah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sudanese exporters have requested an urgent meeting with Central Bank Governor Amina Mirghani Hassan to discuss pressing export-sector challenges and to reach a mutually beneficial framework that supports the national economy.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim Abu Bakr, a member of the Exporters\u2019 Chamber within the Sudanese Business Federation, told Al-Ahdath that the export sector has suffered greatly due to the exit of experienced exporters and the entry of unknown companies for \u201cunjustified reasons.\u201d<br \/>\nHe added that nearly 70% of exports now occur through informal channels (\u201cAl-Waraqah\u201d), depriving the state of significant revenue that should be collected through zakat and taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Abu Bakr also criticized the continued suspension of long-established export companies, pointing to persistent difficulties in repatriating export proceeds, particularly from Egypt. \u201cEven when you get approval to repatriate funds, you have to wait in line,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He confirmed exporters\u2019 readiness to organize a joint symposium with the Central Bank, the Ministries of Trade and Agriculture, to openly address the challenges facing Sudan\u2019s export sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sudan Events \u2013 Rehab Abdullah Sudanese exporters have requested an urgent meeting with Central Bank Governor Amina Mirghani Hassan to discuss pressing export-sector challenges and to reach a mutually beneficial framework that supports the national economy.
