The Minister reviewed the government\u2019s efforts to create a conducive environment for citizens to return to their areas and to launch reconstruction projects, particularly in the health, water, and education sectors. He outlined Sudan\u2019s development needs and priorities, calling for the World Bank\u2019s support within its financing mechanisms to help fund infrastructure projects that serve citizens. He also pointed to the severe financial and economic consequences of the war.<\/p>\n
For her part, the Deputy General Counsel called on the Sudanese delegation to provide the necessary data assessing the institutional capacity to implement projects amid the large-scale infrastructure damage. Such data, she said, is crucial in evaluating Sudan\u2019s ability to absorb support at a time when humanitarian crises and destruction are intensifying.<\/p>\n
