{"id":56120,"date":"2025-10-22T02:59:05","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T23:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=56120"},"modified":"2025-10-22T02:59:05","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T23:59:05","slug":"trump-advisor-ending-the-siege-of-el-fasher-a-top-priority","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2025\/10\/22\/trump-advisor-ending-the-siege-of-el-fasher-a-top-priority\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump Advisor: Ending the Siege of El Fasher a Top Priority"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Masad Bolos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President on Arab and African Affairs, said Monday that peace negotiations in Libya are making progress, while his team is working to achieve a ceasefire in Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with Bloomberg in Rome regarding a potential Libyan agreement, Bolos said, \u201cWe believe it is achievable,\u201d but added, \u201cOne cannot expect peace overnight\u2026 I hope the process moves quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the UN will soon convene a new round of talks to try to achieve peace in Libya, while the U.S. is simultaneously working to reunify the national oil company and the central bank.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding Sudan, Bolos sounded the alarm, describing it as \u201cthe largest humanitarian crisis in the world currently.\u201d He said the U.S., alongside the UN and relief agencies, is working to address the situation.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. envoy warned that conditions are particularly dire in El Fasher, Darfur, which has been under siege for 18 months, leaving around 300,000 people without food or medical care.
