Speaking during the second preparatory workshop titled \u201cImplementation Mechanisms for Reconstruction and Logistical Connectivity between Sudan and Egypt\u201d on Monday, Makin stressed that reconstruction requires revitalizing the agriculture and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cThe prosperity of trade and the expansion of investments must be linked to transportation networks such as ports and border crossings,\u201d emphasizing the importance of integrated storage facilities.<\/p>\n
Makin noted that the forum represents a new phase based on the shared interests of the peoples of the Nile Valley, reaffirming the council\u2019s commitment to making this initiative a new starting point for Sudan\u2019s reconstruction.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Northern State Governor Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Abdulhamid Ibrahim called for the establishment of a national reconstruction fund to be managed transparently under the joint supervision of the state, civil society, and Sudanese expatriates.<\/p>\n
