Sudan\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation warned of the expanding threat posed by the RSF, accusing the rebel militia of seeking to destabilize the Sahel, the Horn of Africa, and border regions\u2014posing a danger to regional and international security.<\/p>\n
At a press conference held by the Sudan News Agency, Undersecretary Ambassador Hussein al-Amin al-Fadil said there were indications of RSF coordination with terrorist groups and negative regional movements to spread chaos and exploit local resources.
\nHe blamed the international community\u2019s silence for the atrocities committed in El Fasher, adding, \u201cWe have witnessed silence even from nations we consider brothers\u2014countries that continue to open their lands to the militia.\u201d<\/p>\n
Al-Fadil saluted the regional and international stances condemning the massacres and violations against the Sudanese people, calling them \u201ca stain on humanity\u2019s conscience,\u201d and hailed the resilience of El Fasher\u2019s residents and the Sudanese people at large.<\/p>\n
He urged the United Nations, the African Union, and regional and international bodies to take immediate steps to designate the RSF as a terrorist organization and impose strict sanctions on states or entities financing or politically backing it.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming Sudan\u2019s commitment to comprehensive and just peace through national dialogue, he said the government had engaged with regional and international initiatives but was met with the RSF\u2019s arrogance and external backing\u2014including mercenaries, weapons, supplies, and logistical bases in neighboring states.
\nHe stressed that Sudan would stand firm to end the bloodshed and defend its sovereignty.<\/p>\n
Al-Fadil emphasized that the conflict was \u201ca national struggle to defend sovereignty and deter terrorism\u2014not a power contest between two generals,\u201d as often portrayed internationally.
\nHe said the RSF militias operate on narrow tribal agendas and serve as tools for destabilizing Sudan\u2019s unity, adding that Khartoum has submitted evidence to the UN Security Council and regional partners of the external support these groups receive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
