The Darfur Community Association in the United Kingdom issued a statement expressing \u201cdeep concern and sorrow\u201d over what it described as \u201cgenocide and ethnic cleansing\u201d in El Fasher at the hands of the RSF, accusing the United Arab Emirates of directly supporting the operations and using \u201cBritish-made\u201d weapons and equipment in the attacks.<\/p>\n
The association said the death toll has risen to around 6,000 people in just three days, including patients, the wounded, pregnant women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities who were trapped inside hospitals, shelters, and homes. It noted that its monitoring teams had previously documented the presence of more than 4,000 of these individuals before the city\u2019s fall.<\/p>\n
The statement also reported hundreds of rape cases involving women, girls, and even children, describing the events as \u201ca crime that shakes the conscience of humanity\u201d and warning that the death toll could rise further amid ongoing attacks and a total lack of humanitarian response.<\/p>\n
It strongly condemned what it called \u201cthe shameful international silence,\u201d holding the United Nations and major powers\u2014especially the United Kingdom\u2014responsible for \u201cdeliberate inaction\u201d in protecting civilians, despite last year\u2019s UN Resolution 2736, which called for urgent measures to prevent such atrocities.<\/p>\n
The group recalled that it had warned a year earlier, during a symposium at Chatham House in London, about the risk of El Fasher\u2019s fall and the likelihood of mass killings\u2014warnings that were ignored.<\/p>\n
