The Sudanese Gold Exporters\u2019 Chamber has called for a thorough investigation and accountability regarding the loss of $5 billion in gold revenues.<\/p>\n

Citing official data showing national gold production exceeding 53 tons \u2014 valued at more than $6 billion \u2014 the Chamber noted that only less than $1 billion reached the state treasury. \u201cThis means that five billion dollars vanished, depriving the country of much-needed resources that could have helped address chronic economic challenges,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

The Chamber demanded a full inquiry to determine who benefited from the missing funds \u201cwhile the nation and its citizens face dire economic hardship.\u201d<\/p>\n

It reaffirmed support for the Central Bank of Sudan\u2019s recent decision to monopolize gold exports, emphasizing that such measures prevent manipulation and protect national wealth.<\/p>\n

The statement cautioned against linking gold exports to fuel or other imports, warning that such practices \u2014 as seen in past experiences \u2014 would raise local gold prices above global levels, weaken the Sudanese pound, and burden citizens with further economic strain.<\/p>\n

The Chamber urged the Central Bank to remain the sole authority controlling gold export revenues and to allocate them based on national priorities, especially fuel imports.
\nDespite being directly affected by the monopoly, the Chamber stated: \u201cThe interest of the country and its people comes before our own.\u201d<\/p>\n

It concluded with a message to the Central Bank Governor: \u201cWe stand with you, not against you, and we offer our expertise, experience, and networks in gold exports \u2014 without charge \u2014 in service of our beloved and targeted homeland.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
