The Sudanese Embassy in Nairobi held a press conference on Wednesday attended by numerous Kenyan and international media representatives.<\/p>\n
Acting Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires, Ambassador Mohamed Osman Okkasha, condemned what he described as \u201cacts of genocide and war crimes\u201d committed by the RSF terrorist militia in the city of El-Fashir and across Darfur, Khartoum, Gezira, and Sennar States.<\/p>\n
Okkasha said the militia had imposed a nearly two-year siege on El-Fashir, cutting off food, medicine, and fuel supplies, and shelling the city with artillery and drones.<\/p>\n
He added that following the Sudanese Armed Forces\u2019 withdrawal, the RSF carried out a campaign of executions, mass killings, and sexual assaults, targeting civilians, including entire families and hospital patients.<\/p>\n
The diplomat cited UN and regional reports describing the situation in El-Fashir as \u201chorrific,\u201d stressing that there was credible evidence of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n
He accused the United Arab Emirates of supplying the RSF with weapons and drones, citing UN Experts\u2019 Report (S\/2024\/65) and Sudan\u2019s official complaint to the UN Security Council supported by evidence.<\/p>\n
Okkasha warned that the militia had become a transnational network threatening regional security, financed through illicit trade and mercenary networks, and urged the UN, the African Union, and international partners to impose sanctions on militia leaders and their backers, halt the arms flow, and designate the RSF as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n
He emphasized: \u201cSilence is complicity, and inaction is betrayal. Sudan will not bow to terrorism. Those responsible for the atrocities in El-Fashir will face justice sooner or later.\u201d<\/p>\n
