As part of ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and Turkey, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty met his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan in Ankara on Wednesday during an official visit.<\/p>\n
At a joint press conference, Abdelatty said they discussed the situation in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, agreeing to strengthen cooperation in ways that serve African interests.<\/p>\n
He noted that they also discussed developments in the Sudanese crisis, highlighting a \u201cshared and identical\u201d view between both countries on the need to end the war and reject any plans to divide Sudan.<\/p>\n
Abdelatty said he and Fidan underscored the importance of preserving Sudan\u2019s national institutions and expressed \u201cfull support for restoring stability and peace.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Anadolu Agency, Abdelatty said: \u201cWe agreed\u2014and our positions are fully aligned\u2014on the necessity of a ceasefire in Sudan, prioritizing a political solution, and maintaining Sudan\u2019s unity and territorial integrity while rejecting any schemes to partition it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI briefed Minister Fidan on Egypt\u2019s ongoing efforts, including my visit to Sudan yesterday, and we agreed on the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the launch of an inclusive political process, especially given the worsening situation on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
