In a statement issued Monday, the Ministry said that during a phone call with his Sudanese counterpart, Mohe Eldin Salem, Abdel Aati stressed the importance of fully implementing the International Quartet\u2019s statement in all its terms, and pushing for a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire to protect Sudan\u2019s territorial integrity and national institutions, while maintaining close consultations between Egypt and Sudan as riparian states defending water rights and the interests of both peoples.<\/p>\n
The statement added that the call also discussed the outcomes of Abdel Aati\u2019s visit to Port Sudan on November 11 and ways to support efforts to reach a comprehensive resolution to the Sudanese crisis. The minister reaffirmed Egypt\u2019s unwavering stance supporting Sudan\u2019s unity, territorial integrity, and safeguarding its national institutions, rejecting any attempts to divide the country or undermine its stability.<\/p>\n
