He stressed that Africa and Europe together can form a \u201ccentral axis\u201d for building a more just and inclusive global order.
\nReforming the Global Financial System
\nThe Secretary-General described the current international financial rules as \u201cunfair and ineffective,\u201d noting that many African countries are burdened with massive debts that hinder investment and development. He called for:
\nEnding unsustainable debts,
\nTripling the capacity of multilateral development banks,
\nAnd granting developing countries a greater voice in global financial decision-making.
\nHe added that addressing economic and development crises would help reduce irregular migration and large-scale displacement.
\nTurning Climate Potential into Industrial Opportunities
\nGuterres pointed out that Africa possesses enormous potential in renewable energy and clean-energy minerals, while Europe has capital and expertise. He said that building a genuine clean-energy partnership could help both continents boost industrialization and create long-term economic opportunities within Africa.
\nReforming the International Peace and Security Architecture
\nThe Secretary-General called for substantial reforms to the global security system in line with the \u201cPact for the Future,\u201d foremost among them granting Africa permanent seats on the UN Security Council\u2014an essential step toward correcting one of the deepest forms of historical marginalization.
\nA New Era of Hope
\nGuterres concluded by emphasizing that the world is at a pivotal moment that requires building interconnected, not competing, multipolarity.
