The Sudanese government has affirmed its commitment to facilitating and expediting humanitarian operations, driven by its determination to deliver aid to those affected and displaced by the atrocities of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
\nOn Tuesday, Sudan\u2019s Permanent Representative in Geneva, Ambassador Hassan Hamed Hassan, held a meeting at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva with Tom Flisser, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, following his recent visit to Sudan.
\nThe Permanent Representative reiterated the Sudanese government\u2019s firm commitment to facilitating and accelerating humanitarian procedures for all organizations, emphasizing that the government\u2019s stance in this regard is unmatched, given its utmost concern for delivering aid to those displaced by the militia\u2019s atrocities.
\nTom Flisser, for his part, reviewed his recent visit to the country and meetings with senior officials in Port Sudan, describing them as positive and constructive.
\nHe also reported witnessing the level of crimes, atrocities, and violations that are shocking under international humanitarian law and human rights, based on his visit to Tawila and meetings with survivors from Al-Fashir.
\nDuring the meeting, Hassan Hamed confirmed the government\u2019s provision of all necessary facilitation through the High Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies, maintaining the opening of border crossings, including Adr\u00e9, and granting access to several airports for this purpose.
\nThe Permanent Representative affirmed the government\u2019s positive engagement with efforts by regional and international partners to achieve peace and end the war, in accordance with the requirements of the roadmap submitted by the government to the United Nations on 10 March 2025.
