The Turkish newspaper Tarihe Tan\u0131kl\u0131k published a detailed report Friday on the crimes committed by the RSF against civilians since the outbreak of the Sudanese war on April 15, 2023, describing the situation as \u201cone of the largest humanitarian catastrophes in modern Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n
Titled \u201cRSF Crimes Against Civilians in Sudan\u201d, the report cited UN and human rights organization data, noting that cities and neighborhoods entered by the RSF became \u201cstages for killings, rapes, abductions, and looting,\u201d forcing millions to flee while leaving behind bodies and destroyed towns.<\/p>\n
The violations, the report stated, were systematic and included:<\/p>\n
Heavy weapon assaults on cities,<\/p>\n
Field executions,<\/p>\n
Burning of markets, homes, and food stores,<\/p>\n
Mass rapes of women and girls,<\/p>\n
Torture and dragging of corpses through streets,<\/p>\n
Looting of hospitals, banks, and private property.<\/p>\n
The UN estimates that more than 10 million Sudanese have been displaced, with violence in West Darfur possibly reaching the level of ethnic cleansing against groups such as the Masalit tribe.<\/p>\n
The report also covered the assassination of West Darfur Governor Khamis Abdullah Abkar in June 2023, hours after criticizing RSF crimes on air. Videos later surfaced showing his body being tortured and dragged, symbolizing the RSF\u2019s terror tactics against those exposing their crimes.<\/p>\n
Statements and documents attributed to Abdel Rahim Dagalo, RSF deputy leader and brother of Hemeti, were cited, highlighting RSF artillery bombardments on residential areas in October 2025, resulting in hundreds of civilian casualties.<\/p>\n
UN human rights offices, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch confirmed:<\/p>\n
Extrajudicial executions,<\/p>\n
Mass rape,<\/p>\n
Organized looting,<\/p>\n
Direct targeting of civilians.<\/p>\n
The US, UK, and EU have imposed sanctions on RSF leaders, including Abdel Rahim Dagalo, for human rights violations.
