Speaking by telephone to Venezuelan TV Rodriguez said she did not know the whereabouts of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, following a series of US strikes on Caracas and other cities.<\/p>\n
Trump said Maduro and Flores had been captured by US forces and flown out of Venezuela.<\/p>\n
The United States hit Venezuela with a \u201clarge-scale strike\u201d early Saturday and said Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of the country after months of stepped-up pressure by Washington \u2014 an extraordinary nighttime operation announced by President Donald Trump on social media hours after the attack.
\nThe legal authority for the strike \u2014 and whether Trump consulted Congress beforehand \u2014 was not immediately clear. The stunning, lightning-fast American military action, which plucked a nation\u2019s sitting leader from office, echoed the US invasion of Panama that led to the surrender and seizure of its leader, Manuel Antonio Noriega, in 1990 \u2014 exactly 36 years ago Saturday.
