{"id":59815,"date":"2026-01-09T18:44:17","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T15:44:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=59815"},"modified":"2026-01-09T18:44:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T15:44:17","slug":"pakistan-nears-1-5-billion-deal-to-supply-sudan-with-weapons-and-aircraft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/09\/pakistan-nears-1-5-billion-deal-to-supply-sudan-with-weapons-and-aircraft\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan Nears $1.5 Billion Deal to Supply Sudan with Weapons and Aircraft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A former senior Pakistani air force official and three informed sources said that Pakistan has entered the final stages of concluding a $1.5 billion deal to supply Sudan with weapons and aircraft\u2014a move expected to provide a significant boost to the Sudanese military as it battles the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The conflict in Sudan, which has been ongoing for more than two and a half years, has fueled what is considered the world\u2019s worst humanitarian crisis, drawn in multiple foreign actors, and threatened the fragmentation of the Red Sea nation, a strategically important country and a major gold producer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two of the three sources familiar with the deal\u2014who all requested anonymity\u2014said the agreement includes 10 Karakoram-8 light attack aircraft, more than 200 drones for reconnaissance and loitering (suicide) attacks, as well as advanced air defense systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Air Marshal (Ret.)
