{"id":60927,"date":"2026-02-27T22:44:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T19:44:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=60927"},"modified":"2026-02-27T22:44:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T19:44:23","slug":"sudan-informs-au-peace-and-security-council-of-its-condemnation-of-ugandas-reception-of-hemedti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/27\/sudan-informs-au-peace-and-security-council-of-its-condemnation-of-ugandas-reception-of-hemedti\/","title":{"rendered":"Sudan Informs AU Peace and Security Council of Its Condemnation of Uganda\u2019s Reception of Hemedti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sudan\u2019s Ambassador to the and envoy to Ethiopia, , addressed an informal consultation session of the on Friday with countries undergoing political transition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The ambassador conveyed Sudan\u2019s appreciation to the Council and to its February chair, Egypt, for convening a ministerial consultation session with Sudan on the sidelines of the African Summit, which was addressed by Foreign Minister and Minister of International Cooperation Ambassador .<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ambassador Al-Zein also announced Sudan\u2019s readiness to receive a delegation from the AU Peace and Security Council in Khartoum at a mutually agreed time, in coordination between the Council and the Sudanese government.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He reviewed the humanitarian, security, and political developments in Sudan, noting the return of the government and state institutions to the capital, Khartoum, as well as the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the cities of Dilling and Kadugli in South Kordofan after more than two years of siege and isolation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The envoy further addressed recent violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia, including attacks on Mustariha and Al-Tina, as well as strategic and suicide drone attacks in North and South Kordofan states and the Blue Nile region, calling on the AU Peace and Security Council to designate the militia as a terrorist organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He also conveyed Sudan\u2019s condemnation of for hosting the leader of the Rapid Support Forces militia and the so-called \u201cTasees\u201d government, and for allowing him to address a public gathering in Kampala despite the Council\u2019s decision not to recognize any parallel entities.
