\nThe victory of \u201cDaughters of Olfa\u201d came after a strong competition with four films: \u201cOurBody\u201d by director Claire Simon, \u201cAgainst The Tide\u201d by director Sarvink Kaur, and \u201cApolonia, Apolonia\u201d by director Sarvink Kaur. Lea Globe, and \u201c20Days In Mariupol\u201d directed by Mstislav Chernov.
\nThe winning film participated in the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, and won many awards at the festival, including the \u201cGolden Eye\u201d award, which goes to documentary films, and the \u201cPositive Cinema\u201d award, which is given to the most positive feature film on the list of films nominated in the official competition of the Cannes Festival. A special mention from the Critic Fran\u00e7ois Chalet Committee, which is presented by the Fran\u00e7ois Chalet Society on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival.
\nThe film represents Tunisia at the Academy Awards in the category of Best Non-English Language Film at the awards ceremony, that is scheduled to be held in March 2024. It is the second film by the Tunisian director to be nominated for the Oscar, as her film \u201cThe Man Who Sold His Back\u201d was previously nominated and made it to the list. The short received Oscar nominations after also winning many international awards.
\nIn her work, Kawthar Ben Hania mixed documentary and fiction, presenting a true story that happened to a Tunisian woman named Olfa, who has four daughters.
