{"id":61692,"date":"2026-05-15T18:27:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T15:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=61692"},"modified":"2026-05-15T18:27:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T15:27:20","slug":"japanese-interest-in-investing-in-sudans-mining-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/15\/japanese-interest-in-investing-in-sudans-mining-sector\/","title":{"rendered":"Japanese Interest in Investing in Sudan\u2019s Mining Sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Sudanese Embassy in Japan has revealed growing interest among Japanese companies in entering Sudan\u2019s mining sector, following intensive efforts led by the General Authority for Geological Research in recent months to showcase Sudan\u2019s promising mining opportunities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> The development reflects the success of ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting investment in the mining industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sudan\u2019s Ambassador to Japan, Al-Rayeh Haidoub, held discussions with Akazawa Tokido, Managing Director of the Sudanese-Japanese company Nipoin, regarding the company\u2019s gold mining investments in Sudan and its expansion plans for the coming phase.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The company\u2019s managing director confirmed that Nipoin began actual gold production at Block 50 in the Argeen area of the Northern State at the end of October 2025, following the completion of technical and procedural arrangements. He also announced the company\u2019s intention to expand the current project, in addition to its desire to invest in a new mining block within the same region.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>He further stated that a company delegation will visit Sudan next June to finalize a contract for a project aimed at extracting gold from \u201ckarta\u201d ore, after completing official licensing procedures.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This development comes as a direct result of promotional efforts carried out by the General Authority for Geological Research in coordination with the Sudanese mission in Tokyo, particularly during Sudan\u2019s participation in Expo Osaka last year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As part of the event, the authority organized a specialized workshop introducing investment opportunities in Sudan\u2019s mining sector. During the workshop, the authority\u2019s Director General, Geological Consultant Ahmed Haroun, delivered a comprehensive presentation on Sudan\u2019s geological potential, mineral wealth, and the opportunities available for international companies seeking to invest in the mining industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ambassador Al-Rayeh Haidoub affirmed that the Sudanese Embassy will continue coordinating with the Ministry of Minerals and the General Authority for Geological Research to provide the necessary facilitation for Japanese companies interested in investing in Sudan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He also noted that arrangements are underway to receive another Japanese company that has expressed interest in entering Sudan\u2019s gold sector and signing a new mining contract in the near future.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sudanese Embassy in Japan has revealed growing interest among Japanese companies in entering Sudan\u2019s mining sector, following intensive efforts led by the General Authority for Geological Research in recent months to showcase Sudan\u2019s promising mining opportunities.
